Scenery on the table
The background is painted with gouache on a whatman sheet and backlighted symmetrically with two sources of diffused light from both sides. The light from the left source hits only the background while the light from the right performs also the function of drawing light. Water is made of aluminized yellow film. The rootlet is inserted into the hole made in at the edge of the film stripe. Several small objects are placed under the film. Thanks to these objects, the rootlet and background reflection resemble reflexes in swift-flowing water. The yellow colour of the film coloured the “water” strongly. This was what I wanted to obtain, because in actual life water contains a lot of solid particles which colour it strongly. However after the slide had been developed it seemed to me that the yellow water was not in harmony with the cold tint of background. I had to lower the colour depth of the bottom part of the picture. The discoloured variant of this picture was also beautiful but it wasn’t included in the series as it didn’t go with the colour photographs. Camera Model Name - Sinar F. 9x12.
