Acutance and blur - what to do with them?

Blurring is often used for emphasizing the main point of the shot by means of defocusing the background, changing it into a plain field depleted of any details or into a combination of blurred smeared spots. No object will be lost against such background. The viewer will stop his eyes at all necessary objects. This is the simplest composition technique, and the most widely used. It can be defined as “acute against the blurred” (See photo 4).

   4. A foggy morning. A typical example of “acute on the blurred”. A spider has preserved a fly in the porch of my summer cottage. I only sprinkled the web with water dust by means of sprayer and shot it with macro lens. Camera Model Name - Fuji Finepix S2 Pro. Camera lens - Nikkor 28-70/2,8 macro. Sensitivity 100 ACA. Exposure 1/90 sec. Aperture value 5,6.
