Acutance and blur - what to do with them?

There is the same picture in the text above.
   2. Shooting with a superwide-angle lens.
This method has appeared recently together with the new digital cameras, which are supplied with lenses that enable shooting in a low distance. There are such cameras which can shoot with a good acutance an ant running on the front lens of objective. This rather unusual portrait has been shot on demand of “Mercedes” magazine to illustrate a report about the club of these automobiles owners. To combine in one shot the portrait of the car owner and speedometer of his “iron horse”, I had to give the hero of the illustration a tiny Nikon 5000 supplied with wide-angle attachment. I asked him to hold the camera in such a way as to set acutance on speedometer scale. The aperture was closed almost in full; this allowed keeping the face of the car owner in zone of good acutance. Dash fascia, however, is rather blurred (See photo 5).

  5. Speedometer. Camera model name Nikon 5000. Wide-angle attachment 19 mm. Sensitivity 100ACA. Exposure 1/30 sec. Aperture value 5,6. 6. Work place of the sparrow. From series “Birds in big city”.
