   Light brush, in essence, is a usual torch, with the light of which the future still life is gradually lighted, this is done centimeter by centimeter and in perfect dark. However, this can be not only a still life. I saw interiors shot with the help of this tool. Principle of gradual lighting of the object is also used for portrait shooting. I used this technique even to lighten landscapes. In this case a powerful electric flashlight was used as a light brush.

  If everything is so simple a question arises: “Why are the brushes so expensive?” An American one, which I saw six years ago, cost three thousand dollars. Apparently, the mater is that the creator had to overcome numerous technical obstacles at the development stage. At first he had to put a halogen lamp in a cramped light-tight housing. Then he had to struggle against the warm stream radiated by the lamp. After that he had to solve the problem of light temperature: to invent a temperature resistant conversion filter for the daylight. Then he worked out light-fiber attachments of various diameters through which light reaches the object of the shooting. After all he constructed optical attachments, blends, and colour filters.
