Light brush

   On of the most difficult tasks is to reiterate exactly an exposition that has already been done. Your hand hardly will be able to copy precisely the trajectory of its own motion. Time reckoning is made mentally what also adds contingency to the exposure process;
- to minimize the risks, I use combined lighting: sometimes I use studio flashes and then make extra illumination of important details of composition with a light brush, sometimes I apply halogen light in combination with the same light brush. Using such technique helps to minimize mistakes at doubling.

   The two photos below were shot with the help of a new digital technology. I took into consideration the fact that when photographing with Nikon D2X long exposures cause switching off the noise-killer, and this in its turn causes the loss of details.

Combined lighting

A book. (Combined lighting).
That’s why I shoot now as follows: I fix the camera on a solid tripod, then expose the subject in parts. At first I exposed the candle, then  - the book and the spectacles, then – the background, also in parts. I did so until finish. Then I combine this by means of computer. Each particular exposure shouldn’t exceed 30 seconds. In this case the quality of the picture approximates to the quality of a medium format slide. The difference is that it’s easier to work and you make less mistakes...
