Window as a mirror of the soul
I caught luck when I noticed a sky lift in one of Munich streets; in its hanging stage under a huge umbrella there was a gardener who worked at the height of the fourth storey. He was fondly looking after the sumptuous geraniums which decorated the flat and unimpressive front of the many-storied business center.

Munich. Germany. Two gardeners look after the geraniums that decorate the front of a business center.
As I moved from one country to another I noticed that windows in Austria were sickly-sweet sentimental and “awfully” well-groomed. It seemed that the mistresses competed who of them had more beautiful geraniums and flower pots in the window-sill, and who showed more fantasy and designer ingenuity.

Zurich. A window of a Swiss funster, an admirer of fine mechanics.
